1. Who Can Use KoKo

KoKo is designed for children ages 5 to 10. A parent or legal guardian must download, set up, and supervise the use of KoKo. By setting up a child's profile, you confirm that:

  • You are the child's parent or legal guardian.
  • You consent to your child using KoKo under your supervision.
  • You have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

Children should not use KoKo without a parent or guardian being aware. KoKo is a tool to support curiosity and learning, not a replacement for adult supervision.

2. What KoKo Does

KoKo is an AI-powered companion that answers children's questions, tells stories, and helps kids explore topics in a safe, age-appropriate way. Here is what you should know:

  • KoKo's responses are generated by artificial intelligence. While we work hard to make them accurate and helpful, they may not always be perfect.
  • KoKo is designed to be kind, gentle, and encouraging. When a topic is sensitive, KoKo will respond with care and may suggest that the child talk to a trusted adult.
  • KoKo's safety system reviews every question and flags anything concerning for parents to review in the Parent Dashboard.

3. Not Medical, Legal, or Mental Health Advice

KoKo is not a doctor, therapist, lawyer, or counselor. KoKo does not provide medical advice, mental health treatment, legal guidance, or any form of professional counsel.

If your child has a medical concern, emotional difficulty, or any situation that requires professional attention, please contact a qualified professional. KoKo may gently encourage children to talk to a trusted adult, but this is not a substitute for professional care.

4. Acceptable Use and Safety Rules

To keep KoKo a safe space for all children, please ensure the app is used appropriately:

  • KoKo should only be used by children within the intended age range of 5 to 10, under parental supervision.
  • Do not attempt to use KoKo to generate harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content.
  • Do not try to bypass KoKo's safety filters or encourage a child to do so.
  • Do not use KoKo for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to suspend access to KoKo if we detect misuse that compromises the safety of our platform.

5. Parent Dashboard PIN Responsibility

The Parent Dashboard gives you visibility into your child's conversations, flagged topics, and app settings. It is protected by a PIN that you set during app setup.

  • You are responsible for keeping your PIN secure and not sharing it with your child.
  • If your child gains access to the Parent Dashboard, we are not responsible for any changes they may make to settings or data.
  • You can change your PIN at any time from within the Parent Dashboard.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

KoKo offers subscription plans that unlock full access to all features:

  • Monthly Plan: $4.99 per month, billed monthly.
  • Yearly Plan: $49.99 per year, billed annually.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's settings:

  • Apple (iOS): Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions, then select KoKo to manage or cancel.
  • Google (Android): Open Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions, then select KoKo to manage or cancel.

Payment is processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not directly collect or store your payment information. Refund requests should be directed to Apple or Google, as they handle all billing.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, artwork, and branding associated with KoKo, including the KoKo character, logo, animations, and user interface, are owned by KoKo AI and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on KoKo's content or branding without our written permission.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

KoKo is provided "as is" and "as available." While we do our best to make KoKo safe, helpful, and reliable, we cannot guarantee that:

  • KoKo's responses will always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for every situation.
  • The app will be available without interruption or free from errors.
  • KoKo will meet every family's specific needs or expectations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KoKo AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use KoKo. This includes but is not limited to damages for reliance on AI-generated content.

Our total liability for any claim related to KoKo shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means.

Your continued use of KoKo after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, please stop using KoKo.
